Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup whole red lentils

  • 1 big-sized onion chopped

  • Ginger 1tsp chopped

  • Green Chilies 2-3

  • Red Chili powder 1/2 tsp

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro, for garnish

  • Chopped garlic 2tsp for tarka

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the lentils in a colander until the water runs clear.
  2. Add the lentils to a pressure cooker along with the water.

  3. Add onions, ginger, garam masala, Turmeric powder, salt, red chili powder and salt and close the lid and lock the pressure cooker.

  4. Cook on high heat for 5 whistles.

  5. Let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes, then release any remaining pressure manually.

  6. Heat the oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.

  7. Add chopped garlic and let it be light brown now add whole garam masala like coriander and cumin seeds in your tarka.

  8. When garam masala get light brown add this tarka on your cooked daal carefully.

  9. Delicious Sabut Masoor ki Daal Recipe is ready to eat.
